The “How To” series focuses on exactly that …. How To.
These informative and practical 3 hour webinars aim to equip participants with both knowledge and skills to be able to implement strategies in their own casework, care, education or therapeutic setting.
Risk management or as it is often referred to, safety planning, is a misunderstood concept and in the pursuit of “safety” we often apply restrictive and generalized strategies without consideration to the specific and unique vulnerabilities for the children we are supporting.
This webinar will introduce you to a structured process of safety planning which focuses on analysis of the child’s behaviour to guide supervision and support strategies.
Using different settings (home, school, community) you will learn how to identify vulnerable relationships and interactions, situations/environments where the child might be more likely to engage in further behaviour and identify triggers (emotional and situational) that may increase the potential for further harmful sexual behaviour. Using this insight, you will be able to individualize your strategies to decrease the potential for behaviour and to increase supervision and supports when needed.
